Quick add and edit a job
Updated August 9, 2026
Quick Add creates a job from anywhere in the app in a few seconds — a customer, an address, a service type and a date. It is the fastest path from a phone call to something on the board.
Adding a job
- Open Quick Add Job from the sidebar — it is available on every page, including mid-route.
- Start typing the customer's name or phone. Matching an existing customer pulls their address in; if there is no match, you can create the customer inline.
- Pick a service type. The job takes that service type's default duration, which you can override on the spot.
- Choose a date. Leave the time flexible if the customer did not ask for one — flexible stops are what the optimizer has freedom to move.
Flexible versus promised times
Setting an explicit time marks the stop as promised, and optimizing will then refuse to move it without asking. Only set a time when you actually told the customer one — every promised stop is a constraint the optimizer has to work around.
Editing a scheduled job
Open the job and edit it in place. Changing the service type does not rewrite pricing on a quote or invoice that already exists; those are separate documents once created.
Recording work that already happened
You can date a job in the past — useful for logging a call-out you did before you started using Rhumbit, or one a technician forgot to record. The app confirms first, because a backdated job appears in that day's reports and changes numbers you may have already looked at.
