Texting and opt-outs
Updated August 9, 2026 · 1 walkthrough
Texting is consent-based throughout Rhumbit, and an opt-out is honoured everywhere — not just in the place it was given.
Texting and opt-outs
0:13On a computer- Choose how you and your customers are kept in the loop
- The Notifications page opens on How you get notified
- Change an AI booking and the caller gets told
- Some numbers should never be texted
- The number is entered, ready to add to the do-not-text list
- Added by hand, honoured from now on
- The number now sits on the opt-out list, marked manual, and will never be texted

How consent is recorded
- Booking forms and your public page's quote form both ask for it explicitly.
- The consent is stored against the customer with a timestamp.
- A customer with no recorded consent is not texted.
What STOP does
Replying STOP opts the customer out immediately and permanently, until they opt back in themselves. It applies across the whole app — ETA notices, quote reminders, overdue invoice chasers and the receptionist all respect it.
You cannot opt a customer back in on their behalf. That is a legal requirement, not a Rhumbit limitation — the customer has to do it.
