Why is this link not working?
Updated August 9, 2026
Booking links, quote links and invite links all stop working eventually, and that is the feature rather than the bug — a link that lived forever could be forwarded, replayed, or used by someone it was never meant for. Here is what each failure screen means.
The link expired
Links are time-limited. Send a fresh one — nothing was lost, and the customer does not need to do anything differently.
The link was already used
Booking links are single-use. If the customer genuinely needs to book again, send another link; if they think they did not book, check Pending Bookings before assuming it failed.
The link does not look right
This is what a modified or truncated link produces. The usual innocent cause is a messaging app that broke the URL across two lines. Re-send it and ask the customer to tap rather than copy.
It asked me to sign in
You followed a link into the app itself rather than a customer-facing page. Sign in and you will be taken where you were heading — the destination is remembered.
Quick checklist
- Confirm which kind of link it is: booking, quote, invoice or invite.
- Check whether the thing it points at already happened.
- Re-send from the record rather than re-sending the old message.
- Ask the customer to tap the link rather than copy and paste it.
