Why is this link not working?

Updated August 9, 2026

Booking links, quote links and invite links all stop working eventually, and that is the feature rather than the bug — a link that lived forever could be forwarded, replayed, or used by someone it was never meant for. Here is what each failure screen means.

These screens are captured from the real app. A recorded walkthrough is scheduled for the next filming pass.

The link expired

An expired booking link fails safely — and offers a way back

Links are time-limited. Send a fresh one — nothing was lost, and the customer does not need to do anything differently.

A booking link only works once

Booking links are single-use. If the customer genuinely needs to book again, send another link; if they think they did not book, check Pending Bookings before assuming it failed.

The link does not look right

Change one character of a quote link and it stops working

This is what a modified or truncated link produces. The usual innocent cause is a messaging app that broke the URL across two lines. Re-send it and ask the customer to tap rather than copy.

It asked me to sign in

Not signed in? Every app link lands you at sign-in

You followed a link into the app itself rather than a customer-facing page. Sign in and you will be taken where you were heading — the destination is remembered.

Quick checklist

  1. Confirm which kind of link it is: booking, quote, invoice or invite.
  2. Check whether the thing it points at already happened.
  3. Re-send from the record rather than re-sending the old message.
  4. Ask the customer to tap the link rather than copy and paste it.
