Complete a job step by step
Updated August 9, 2026 · 7 walkthroughs
Every job runs through the same four steps: Arrive, Inspect, Work, Invoice. Each one ticks green when it has what it needs, and the job will not close until they all have.
1. Arrive
Arrive and start the inspection
0:11On the phone- You're on site and the billable clock is already running
- Shoot the site before you touch anything
- Photo saved to the job
- Start the inspection
- Arrive is ticked green and the Inspect step lists what it still needs
Recorded August 2026
Arriving starts the billable clock. Photograph the site before you touch anything — the before shot is what settles a disagreement three weeks later.
Seeing what a step still needs
See what a step still needs
0:11On the phone- Tap What's missing and it takes you straight to the first gap
- It jumps straight to the diagnosis summary — the first thing still missing
- Everything standing between you and the next step, in one list
- Tap a row and it opens that field
- It opens the customer scope acknowledgment, ready to confirm
Recorded August 2026
Rather than a step refusing to complete for no visible reason, the panel lists exactly what is outstanding. If a step will not tick, open this first.
2. Inspect
Record what you found
0:15On the phone- Type it or say it
- The note box opens
- …in your own words
- Writing up the finding
- The finding written out, Add note now live
- Saved to the job
- The note is on the job — and Auto-fill from notes has appeared
- One tap turns your notes into the summary the office and the customer read
- The summary writes itself from your notes — 183 chars, gate passed
Recorded August 2026
Findings are graded — fine, needs watching, or failed. That grade is what drives the follow-up work and what the customer sees on their report, so it is worth being deliberate rather than marking everything acceptable.
3. Work
Add the parts you used
0:15On the phone- Everything required is in — Start work unlocks
- Inspect ticked green — you're on the Work step
- Log the parts you used — type, speak, or scan the barcode
- The catalogue filters to matching parts, priced
- Tap it and it's on the job
- On this job — 1 item, $38.00
- Change the count right on the line
- Two fitted — the line and the total follow
Recorded August 2026
Parts you record here flow onto the invoice at the end of the job, so there is no separate materials list to reconcile afterwards.
Finish the work step
0:07On the phoneThis recording stops part-way through — the written steps below cover the whole task.
- Re-take the reading now the repair is done
- The numeric keypad opens for that reading
- Punch in the measured value
Recorded August 2026
Getting the scope signed
Get the scope signed
0:15On the phone- Confirm they agreed to the scope and the price
- Acknowledged — one item fewer to go
- Hand them the phone
- The signature pad opens with the customer's name already filled in
- They sign right on the screen
- Signing on the pad
- Their signature is on the pad
- Saved to the job
- Signed — it's on the job record
Recorded August 2026
The customer confirms what was agreed before the work is billed. This is a typed name and a confirmation rather than a drawn signature — it is faster on a phone in a driveway, and it is just as attributable.
4. Invoice
Invoice and take payment on site
0:24On the phone- Confirm the billable hours before you charge
- Labor confirmed and locked into the total
- Take payment
- It won't charge yet — it jumps to the signature it still needs
- The invoice needs their signature too
- The signature pad opens on the invoice
- They sign for the invoice
- Signing on the pad
- Their signature is on the pad
- Save the invoice signature
- Signature captured on the invoice
- Pick how they're paying
- Cash selected — and a tip prompt appears
- Now it will take the payment
- Payment recorded, job closed, next stop up
Recorded August 2026
The invoice is built from what you actually recorded — labour, parts, findings — rather than from a blank form. Take payment on the spot if the customer is standing there, or send it and move on.
