Set up card payments
Updated August 9, 2026
Connecting Stripe lets customers pay from the invoice itself, and records the payment without you touching it. Until it is connected, Rhumbit degrades gracefully rather than breaking.
This guide is written rather than filmed. A recorded walkthrough is scheduled for the next filming pass.
What happens if you have not connected it
Invoices still send and can still be paid — you simply record the payment yourself when it arrives. Nothing is blocked; the pay-now link is just absent.
The "include a payment link" option is disabled rather than hidden, and says why. This is the app declining to promise the customer something it cannot deliver.
Connecting Stripe
- Go to Settings → Billing → Payments.
- Start the Stripe onboarding. Stripe collects your business and bank details directly — Rhumbit never sees or stores them.
- Come back when Stripe reports you as onboarded. New invoices then carry a pay-now link automatically.
Once it is on
- Customers can pay from the invoice or the portal link.
- Payments record themselves — do not also record them by hand or the invoice will read as overpaid.
- Technicians can take a card on site as part of the invoice step.
