Quote from the field

Updated August 9, 2026 · 2 walkthroughs

The best time to quote extra work is while you are standing in front of it. Both paths below produce a normal quote — nothing about it is second-class for having been written in a driveway.

The written steps below are the whole walkthrough.

Turn a field estimate into a quote
  1. Quote right from the job you're standing at
  2. The estimate builder opens with the customer already filled in from the job
  3. Search your own equipment catalog
  4. Eight heat pumps, filtered from the 41-item catalog
  5. Add the replacement heat pump to the estimate
  6. The quote saves itself — the heading becomes Edit Quote, with the line on it and a Saved time
  7. Add a note the customer never sees
  8. The internal note is written and already saved
  9. Terms sit right below — these the customer does see
  10. The customer-facing terms are in and saved
  11. Good, Better and Best are priced from your multipliers — sending all three is a paid upgrade
  12. Head back to the schedule
  13. Today's column, with the job you were just at
  14. The estimate stays attached to the job
  15. The job's button now reads View Estimate — the quote lives on the job

The written steps below are the whole walkthrough.

Quote from your phone
  1. Your day, in order
  2. Four stops today — one en route, three upcoming
  3. Tap a stop to see what's waiting
  4. The stop's details slide up — service, window, address and phone
  5. The full job record, on the phone
  6. The job opens in full, with Create Estimate in the header
  7. Start an estimate without leaving the driveway
  8. A blank estimate, opened against this job — customer already filled in
  9. Add what the job actually needs
  10. Equipment, material or a custom line
  11. Straight from the company catalog
  12. The whole equipment catalog, priced
  13. Find the unit
  14. Eight heat pumps to choose from
  15. The price builds itself
  16. One line, priced and taxed — total $3,829.34, and Save comes alive
  17. Saved — and tied to this job
  18. Now Edit estimate — the quote is saved
  19. Back to the job, estimate attached
  20. The job's button now reads View Estimate

What technicians can and cannot see

Technicians can build and send quotes, but cost and margin figures stay hidden — they see the customer-facing price only. See what technicians can and cannot see.

Quote from the findings you just recorded rather than starting blank: the failed items from the inspection are already there to price.
