What technicians can and cannot see
Updated August 9, 2026
Technicians see their own work and nothing else. This matters when you are deciding what to put in a job note, and it matters when a technician tells you they cannot find something. Here is the same app, side by side, in both roles.

Settings
Company settings are manager-only. A technician who opens the Settings URL directly gets their own profile and nothing else — not an error, just a much shorter page.
Other people's jobs
A technician cannot open a job assigned to someone else, even with a direct link. This is enforced in the database rather than by hiding buttons, so pasting a URL from a colleague does not get around it.
What technicians never see
Cost figures and margins are redacted for technicians. They see what the customer is being charged — they need that to take payment — but not what the work cost you.
